Founded in 1994 by joint Artistic Directors Shôn Dale-Jones and Stefanie Müller, Hoipolloi has become one of the foremost touring theatre company's in Britain. Hoipolloi has been committed to making new work for the last 11 years. Since 1994 they have toured over 13 new shows nationally and internationally.

Hoipolloi creates work that celebrates the imagination and takes audiences away from the everyday. They are fascinated by life's continual collision between reality and fantasy. As a result their theatre involves the creation of strong stage worlds that are visually powerful and unbound by the confines of reality. Their shows are packed with larger than life characters and a lot of laughs.
