Our son was diagnosed with autism when he was two years of age. My husband was in his mid forties when he received his diagnosis. Both are wonderful men who share common difficulties but both are very individual. My family have taught me such a lot for which I remain eternally grateful; including patience and tolerance, to enjoy the now and accept difference without judging.
Alongside my private work I am employed by the Local Authority. In my capacity as an Early Years SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Practitioner, I deliver training, consultancy work and facilitate specialist family groups. Over the years I have been privileged to have worked with hundreds of people with autism and the families and support teams around them.
